How To Prolong The Service Life Of An Electric Sewage Pump?

Electric Sewage Pump life extension tips:

1. It is forbidden to start the machine when the power supply voltage is abnormal
Because the low-voltage power supply line is relatively long, it is common for the terminal voltage of the line to be too low. When the phase voltage is lower than 198 volts and the line voltage is lower than 342 volts, the speed of the sewage pump motor will drop. When it is less than 70% of the rated speed, the starting centrifugal switch will be closed, causing the starting winding to be energized for a long time and heat up or even burn out. windings and capacitors. On the contrary, if the voltage is too high, the motor will overheat and burn

Bad winding. Therefore, during the operation of the sewage pump, the operator must observe the power supply voltage value at any time. If it is lower than the rated voltage by 10% or higher than the rated voltage by more than 10%, the motor should be stopped to find out the cause and eliminate the fault.

2. Confirm the correct rotation direction of the motor
The rotation direction of the motor should be clarified. There are many types of sewage pumps that can discharge water when they are forward and reversed, but when they are reversed, the water output is small and the current is large. If the reverse time is long, the motor winding will be damaged.

3. Installation of leakage protector
A leakage protector is also called a life-saving device, and its function can be understood from the three words "life-saving device". Because the sewage pump works underwater, it is easy to leak electricity and cause power loss or even electric shock accidents. If a leakage protector is installed, as long as the leakage value of the sewage pump exceeds the operating current value of the leakage protector (generally not exceeding 30 mA), the leakage protector will cut off the power supply of the sewage pump.

Ensure safety while avoiding electric leakage and wasting electric energy.

4. Cable installation and insulation resistance requirements of submersible pumps
When installing the sewage pump, the cable should be overhead and the power cord should not be too long. Do not put force on the cable when the sewage pump is launched or raised, so as not to cause the power cord to break. Do not sink into the mud when the sewage pump is working, otherwise, it will cause poor heat dissipation of the motor and burn out the motor windings. When installing, the insulation resistance of the motor should not be lower than 0.5 megohms.

5. Avoid frequent switching
Do not switch on and off the sewage pump frequently. This is because backflow will occur when the electric pump stops. If it is turned on immediately, the motor load will start, resulting in excessive starting current and burning of the windings. Due to the large current when starting, frequent starting will also burn out the windings of the sewage pump motor.

6. Do not let the sewage pump work overloaded for a long time
In order to avoid long-term overloading of the sewage pump, do not pump water with high sand content and observe whether the current value is within the value specified on the nameplate at any time. If the current is found to be too large, stop the pump for inspection. In addition, the dehydration operation time of the water pump should not be too long, so as not to overheat the motor and burn it.

7. Pay attention to daily maintenance
Usually, the motor should be checked frequently. If cracks are found on the lower cover, or the rubber sealing ring is damaged or invalid, it should be replaced or repaired in time to prevent water from seeping into the sewage pump.
